Where Adventure Meets History & Nature

Historic Landmark

Santa Margarita Ranch was home to indigenous peoples for more than 10,000 years. The ranch was settled in the late 1700s by Spanish padres and became part of California’s famed Mission trail.

Our sustainable winegrowing practices have earned “Sustainability in Practice” certification, which is one of the most stringent programs of its kind. These practices include water conservation, solar power, habitat protections and more.

Geological Wonders

Santa Margarita Ranch is blessed with a remarkable diversity of soil types, including ancient sea bed riddled with giant oyster fossils. You can enjoy a display of these astonishing fossils at the bottom of our final zipline.

Working Ranch

Today, Santa Margarita Ranch remains one of California’s oldest continuously operated cattle ranches and is regarded as a cornerstone of Central Coast agritourism.
